The "2020 Lancang-Mekong TV Week with Myanmar Theme Day" has opened in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan province.

The TV week includes an exhibition on media cooperation, online media forums and screening of TV series of Lancang-Mekong countries. Fourteen documentaries from Myanmar will be shown at the event.

The event not only celebrates the 70th anniversary of establishment of bilateral relations between China and Myanmar, but also creates a new brand in media cooperation, said Meng Dong, deputy director of China's National Radio and Television Administration.

The Mekong River, also known as the Lancang River in China, is a vital waterway for cross-border shipping among China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
